Figure AI's BotQ factory reaches one robot per hour

What happened

Figure AI said its BotQ factory now builds its Figure 03 humanoid robot at a rate of one robot per hour. That is a notable production milestone for a young field. Figure robots have already supported production of more than 30,000 vehicles at BMW's Spartanburg plant, logging over 1,250 hours and moving more than 90,000 parts. The pilot is expanding to Leipzig, Germany.

Why it matters

Making robots at scale is as hard as making them work. A steady production rate shows Figure is building the supply side, not just prototypes. Real deployments at BMW give proof that the robots can do useful, repeated work in a factory.

Scaling production is key to bringing down cost, which is needed for wider use.

MintedBrain take

Production rate is an underrated sign of progress. It is one thing to show a robot in a video, and another to build many that work in real plants. Figure's mix of factory output and live deployments makes it one of the clearer leaders to watch in humanoid robots.
