What Google announced

Google announced Gemini Notebook as a Connected App on October 23, 2026. It says @Gemini Notebook can manage notebooks and sources, save notes, and answer questions from notebook context. MintedBrain has not tested the integration.

Who can access it

Google lists it as available now for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, across Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and personal Google accounts. The feature is on by default globally except in the European Economic Area, where it is off by default.

For managed accounts, both Gemini and Gemini Notebook must be enabled for the relevant group or organizational unit. An organization’s settings can therefore prevent access even when the feature has launched.

How to check your account

Google’s Connected Apps help says availability can vary by device, country and Gemini app. In the web app, open Customize, then Connectors, to inspect an app’s supported actions and connection status. Personal-account guidance differs from work or school guidance, so use the instructions for your account type.

MintedBrain take

The useful change is a shorter path between a research conversation and an organized source collection. An illustrative student workflow would be to collect course sources in a notebook, then ask which source supports a particular claim. Check the cited material yourself before using the answer in an assignment. This is a suggested workflow, not a reported product test.
