What happened
xAI launched Connectors in the Grok web app. Connectors let Grok link to common work tools so it can read and use your data. Supported apps include SharePoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Google Workspace, Notion, GitHub, and Linear.
With these links, Grok can answer questions that draw on your files, email, notes, and project tools, rather than working only from a single prompt.
Why it matters
Connectors are becoming a standard feature for AI assistants. They turn a chatbot into a tool that knows your work. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini all offer similar links, so this keeps Grok competitive for daily use.
The trade-off is data access. Linking work tools means the assistant can see more of your information, so trust and permissions matter.
MintedBrain take
Connectors make any assistant far more useful for real tasks. Before turning them on, check what data each connector can read and who controls it. Start with low risk tools, then expand once you trust the results.
