Anthropic Launches Claude Design
Anthropic announced Claude Design on April 17, 2026. It is a design surface that runs on Claude Opus 4.7 and is available in the Claude web app.
What Claude Design Does
According to Anthropic, users describe what they want in natural language and refine the output through conversation, inline comments, direct edits, and adjustment controls. Anthropic highlights use cases including slide decks, social posts, documents, prototypes, landing pages, and standalone HTML exports.
Anthropic says users can bring in brand assets and design systems, and that Claude Design can export to Canva, PDF, PPTX, and HTML.
How It Fits With Opus 4.7
Claude Opus 4.7 is the model that powers the tool. Opus 4.7 has high-resolution vision up to 3.75 megapixels, which Anthropic says helps the model read reference screenshots, logos, and type samples more reliably.
Claude Design is available on the Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.
Why It Matters
Claude Design pushes Anthropic into a space that already includes Canva, Figma AI, and Adobe Firefly. Anthropic positions the tool around iterative refinement with fine-grained controls rather than one-shot image generation. It signals that Anthropic wants Claude to be a direct tool for everyday design work, not just a model behind other apps.
