Research Prospects with Perplexity Before Cold Emailing
Personalized cold emails get higher reply rates. Perplexity can help you research prospects quickly.
What you need
- Perplexity (free or Pro).
- A prospect's name and company.
- 5–10 minutes.
Step 1: Gather context
Ask Perplexity: "What has [Company] announced or launched in the last 6 months?" or "Who is [Name], [Title] at [Company], and what are their priorities?" Use the cited sources to verify.
Step 2: Find a hook
Look for: funding, product launch, leadership change, or a recent blog post. Use one as your opener. "I saw you just launched [X]—congrats. I've been helping similar teams with [your offer]."
Step 3: Draft the email
Paste the hook and your value prop into ChatGPT or Copy.ai. Ask for a short, personalized cold email (under 150 words). Edit to sound human.
Step 4: Verify before sending
Double-check names, titles, and company details. AI can hallucinate; a wrong detail kills credibility.
