Before You Start What You Need

This course is hands-on. You will build three working agents across five modules, so you need a few things ready before you begin.

Required accounts (all free)

• Lindy (lindy.ai): Your primary agent-building platform. The free tier includes up to 40 agent tasks per month, which is enough to complete this course. Sign up at lindy.ai.
• Gmail or Google Workspace: You will connect an email account when building integrations in Module 4. Any free Gmail account works.

Optional (recommended but not required)

• MindStudio (mindstudio.ai): A second platform used in one lesson in Module 2 to compare approaches. The free plan includes unlimited agent runs. Setting it up takes 2 minutes and the comparison is a useful exercise, but you can complete the entire course using only Lindy.
• Slack: If you want to deploy an agent to a Slack workspace.
• Botpress (botpress.com): An open-source option covered briefly for reference.

What you will build

Throughout this course, you will build three agents:

1. A document summarizer (Module 2): Your first agent. It takes a block of text and produces a structured summary with key points, conclusions, and action items.
2. A knowledge base Q&A agent (Module 3): An agent that answers questions using documents and data you provide.
3. A multi-step research agent (Module 4): An agent that breaks a complex request into steps, uses multiple tools, and delivers a structured briefing.

Each project builds on skills from the one before.

Time estimate

Expect 6 to 10 hours total. Each module takes roughly 1 to 2 hours if you build as you go.
