What happened

LeapXpert announced a $180 million growth round led by Riverwood Capital on June 30, with continuing backer Portage Ventures. The company's platform governs and structures business conversations that happen across consumer messaging apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage, SMS and Signal.

The raise is a sharp step up from its earlier $22 million Series A+ and $20 million Series B. Hundreds of organizations across financial services, government and the Forbes Global 2000 use the platform. Its thesis is that governed conversation data is a large and underused dataset.

Why it matters

A lot of business now happens on consumer messaging apps that sit outside official recordkeeping. Capturing those conversations in a compliant, structured form addresses both regulatory exposure and a gap in enterprise data.

The round signals enterprise AI moving into the recordkeeping and conversation-data layer. Structured conversation history is exactly the kind of proprietary dataset that makes internal AI more useful.

MintedBrain take

The interesting angle is less compliance and more that governed conversation data becomes training and retrieval material. Firms adopting this should be clear-eyed that they are building an AI-ready record, not just a compliance archive.
