Timefold raises $13M Series A to scale AI scheduling-optimization APIs

What happened

Timefold closed a $13 million Series A led by Alstin Capital, with Kompas VC, Lakestar, and Smartfin participating. The company's APIs let teams embed vehicle routing and workforce scheduling directly into their applications.

ARR grew fourfold in the prior year, and customers include NEC, CBRE, ADP, Lufthansa, and Subaru. The capital funds expansion into the US market, and Timefold positions itself as agentic scheduling infrastructure.

Why it matters

Scheduling and resource allocation are hard optimization problems that many teams solve poorly on their own. As agents take on more operational work, they need reliable planning components underneath them.

Offering that as an API rather than a full application lets it slot into existing systems, which is often how infrastructure layers spread.

MintedBrain take

Optimization is a place where reusing a mature solver beats building your own. Teams weaving scheduling into agent workflows should treat it as a distinct, testable component rather than something an LLM improvises.
