Google Closes $32 Billion Wiz Acquisition, Its Largest Deal Ever
Google LLC officially completed its $32 billion acquisition of Wiz on March 11, 2026, closing the biggest deal in the company's history. The acquisition had been in progress since its announcement in March 2025 and required regulatory clearances from the U.S. Department of Justice (October 2025), the European Union and Australia (February 2026), and Singapore and Japan (March 2026).
Wiz, a leading cloud and AI security platform headquartered in New York, will join Google Cloud while retaining its brand and its commitment to securing customers across all cloud environments, including those of Google's competitors.
What This Means for Security and AI
Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport said that integrating Google's cutting-edge AI capabilities into the Wiz platform will give security teams new tools for detecting and responding to threats. The company plans to announce additional enhancements powered by Gemini AI in the coming months.
For Google Cloud, the deal strengthens its position in the enterprise security market, where Wiz had become one of the fastest-growing companies in history before the acquisition. Google had previously tried and failed to acquire Wiz in 2024 for a reported $23 billion before the higher offer succeeded.
