Google began rolling out Gemini 3.5 Pro in June 2026, after showing it at I/O the prior month. The Pro model sits above Gemini 3.5 Flash and had been in internal use. It targets the high end for hard reasoning, coding, and agent tasks.
Figure AI said its BotQ factory now produces its Figure 03 humanoid robot at a rate of one robot per hour. Figure robots have supported production of more than 30,000 vehicles at BMW's Spartanburg plant, with the pilot expanding to Leipzig, Germany.
A debate is growing over AI's effect on jobs. Apollo chief economist Torsten Slok says there is zero evidence AI is killing jobs, and may be creating them. Meanwhile, a CFO survey found AI-related layoffs could rise about 9 times this year, though still a small share of all roles.
