What happened
Google announced updates to Gemini Spark, its always-on personal AI agent. The release adds a macOS app, connections to third-party and Google Workspace apps, and real-time topic tracking, with the agent able to run tasks in the background.
Spark is positioned as a 24/7 assistant that acts across personal and work apps under user direction. It is rolling out to trusted testers and Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US who are 18 or older, along with select business users, and the capabilities are tied to the AI Ultra subscription tier.
